Elle’s Journey

When Elle is spirited away from everything she knows, she soon finds that starving might be a blessing compared to the evil following her and the danger ahead of her. She is guided by the Hunter – a young man haunted by a dead woman, and the Shadow – a creature at war with himself. The Protector travels from the West to help her, only to be led astray by an imposter. It is only when Elle seeks help from the Betrayer that she realizes none of them will survive, if she can’t unite the Five Foretold and find the five magestones.

A Love/Hate review.

Wonderful book..... but it was supposed to be one of 3 and it left me hanging ready for the story to continue, but it hasn't yet.

Highly recommend this story. 1 part of 2

Well this is an older book by Lizzy Ford but it is really worth reading if you like fantasy with a story storyline. Love the characters. However, this is the first of either one or two more books and the second and third book has not been written yet. However, I will definately read the other books when they are written. Very good story set in a land far away, not a fair tale but a fantasy tale. Highly recommend it. Just be aware the first book has no real ending but hopefully the author will finish this tale. Well written and very imaginative. I must say, when I read Lizzy Ford books, something about her writing immediately transports me to the story and the area and I can easily visualize the place. Wonderful writing and descriptive ability.

I like the idea of different lands

This is an interesting world we're thrust into. I like the idea of different lands, powers, and the prophecy that no one knows about 100%. I liked the path this story took, and I would like to continue to find out what happens next. Each character is different and clearly defined. Though there are some character flaws that I think are not addressed so certain plot points can occur easily (Lena). This is still an interesting read.

Great read

Great book! Lizzy Ford is my new favorite author.

A true journey...the mythical and paranormal....good book!
By Camila Wolfe (4.0 out of 5 stars) on July 16, 2015
This was so different than any other Lizzy Ford book I've read to date. Admittedly, I wasn't sure I was going to like this after the first few pages since this wasn't the fast pace "get to the meat" pace I've grown to love about this author. No, Elle's journey is a true page turner. The complexity of the characters and the glimpses into the different societies, the East, theWest, the Nuchan, and the Demons make you continue. You find yourself needing and wanting to find out.Elle, a bastard child, is the last Mage and hope for her world unbeknownst to her. On her flee from the East's destruction, she finds herself exhausted, insulted and gaining powers. The men who come into her life come either to : kill her or save her. This mythical world's terrain intrigues with the paranormal and aids in the weaving of Elle's fate.So why give 4 stars? While I loved the complexity of the details, the beginning is slower but fitting to the word in the title "Journey". All this said...I'm looking forward to reading the next one!

Ok, let me start by saying that I really liked the book. I enjoy Lizzi's work ( I've red all her books) the only reason I don't give this book a five star rating is because there's no second and third book . I sent a Facebook message to her asking about the other two books and she told me that there prob won't be any more books! So the only reason I won't suggest it to others is that you'll get really into it , and then nothing.... it's sad because the story is very engaging and interesting . I really liked the characters. I think the book should come with a warning about being an incomplete series.

A terrific first look

Elle's Journey by Lizzy Ford is a great beginning to what I hope is a new series. The cliffhanger ending would be frustrating otherwise. I was a bit confused in the beginning, with all the characters and completely new environments, but the main characters quickly identified themselves and remained true to the given back grounds and personalities. I can't even begin to imagine where else Elle's journey will take her. Very excited for the next book.
