Kiera’s Moon

When starving artist Kiera wakes up on board a spaceship, she panics. Her best friend has dragged her across the universe to help her find a man and a life, only the man she ends up unwittingly hooking up with is a battle-hardened warrior prince living in exile.

Calculating, cautious A’Ran wants nothing more than to reclaim his planet. He needs Kiera as his lifemate to heal his planet and his war weary people. He’s not prepared to be a lifemate himself, and discovers almost too late what he risks losing if he can’t learn to be more than a warrior.

I am not usually into aliens but I did enjoy this story. Kiera is kidnaped by her best friend and taken to another place so that she can meet someone who is possibly her mate. Kierra is strong willed and has ideas that do not follow the normal way of things on this distant planet. How will Kiera and her mate react when they meet?

I read this book over a year ago, but just read it again in The Anshan Saga paperback. I like the story, the characters, and how this society works. I felt that the pushback between Kiera and the new society was real, but she is so different from her Earth self and her self on Anshan. I don't think she grew that much, that fast, unless her friend really was holding her back that much. I remember from my first time reading this book that I loved the outer space type story, and how Kiera's life-force will help heal the planet.

I LOVED KIERAS MOON, I loved the characters and the time it was set in and being this is a sci fi , brilliant I loved the entire story line. I thought it was a beautiful story how they were part of their own planet. it has adventure action romance of the 3rd kind. you will fall in love with Kieras moon and Kieras sun. I wish there was more .

Grew on me

3.5 starsThis book didn’t catch my attention instantly, and contrary to popular opinion, I didn’t think the strongest point was its beginning or the main character. It actually started to grow on me after the first half – probably a bit too late.Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Were the characters annoying? Yes. Could they have been more explored? Definitely. The PlotThe connection between the real world and the ‘other world’ is supported by a very ‘shallow’ background story. So we go from a silly best friends situation to a whole war zone. And all of a sudden, we are thrown into a completely different narrative! We are also fed several weird names and concepts we have no option but to grasp quickly.I can imagine many dropping the book at this stage. The CharactersKiera is the most contradicting character ever: She is supposed to have a strong personality and be ‘tough as hell’. She can escape an unknown planet and she can challenge a man at least twice her size, however she cannot stand up for herself and stand against her very controversial ‘best friend’! She is also supposed to be smart, however she keeps deeming her best friend’s behaviours as acceptable or even reasonable! Not only that, but she seems to have trouble to understand very basic things and at the same time, she manages way more complex situations.About Evelyn, her best friend, I cannot remember the last time I have found a character as annoying as this one. Evelyn is not only shallow, she is also selfish and the opposite of a ‘best friend’, yet she is still considered a sister, a best friend and God knows what else throughout the book. There is NO confrontation between Kiera and Evelyn. The fact that Evelyn sometimes questions her own decisions makes us think that she might be simply oblivious and blinded by other’s expectations. However, after so many ‘bad decisions’, this excuse ceases to be good enough. The romance might have seemed cliche and farfetched but I loved the relationship between the two characters. Their interactions were hilarious and heart-warming at the same time.Call me a romantic but I was sad that their relationship could not be more explored and that ‘saving the planet’ was put as a priority. I actually like that the intimate scenes were ‘fade to black’, allowed more focus on the development of their relationship on other levels.

Awesome book!!!

I love Lizzy Ford as an author - and once again she does not disappoint!!!I love the way that Lizzy introduces us to the characters in the book -- Kiera and her friend, Evelyn. When Evelyn and her fiance are getting ready to move and go to his home, they kidnap Kiera and take her with. They think he lives somewhere else on earth - but it turns out that he lives in another galaxy all together. This story is short - and I don't write spoilers - but, it will totally keep you attention to the end!!!

Yeah not bad

Good story, main characters good, the friend a total bitch..there are some spelling issues but not enough to put me off & I know there was some complaints about the lack of sex scenes but I actually don't think it would have worked so great with this writer's writing style. I would purchase a follow on book...

Not what I expected

I'm a big fan of this author, and I thought this story had huge potential based on my preferences, but this one fell a little short for me. I think I the h was the best part of the entire book. I loved how smart she was, how she could stand up for herself. I also really enjoyed how she turned into a military strategist pretty much be accident. What kind of ruined it for me was mostly the secondary characters. I disliked many of them, especially the h's so called "BFF". The H was ok, but I really did not feel too much of a romantic connection between him and the h. Also, I usually love this author's writing style, but the timeline seemed to jump spontaneously, and I found it somehow hat confusing.

Fast but with a big Impact!!

My top 5, there is not enough words in the English language that could express how this book made me feel. I love scifi and romance was just a bonus. This book is a fast read but everything has meaning there were times where I cried, I can relate so much to keira's and A'ran is just a babe!
