This is a great series; I could not put it down

This is a great series; I could not put it down. Halloween is the first book in the series. We get to meet Esme and start to learn about her and her mother. They are different from everyone else in their small town. They run a zoo and well they are Angels. Esme is half Angel and she is starting to learn just what her other half is. I love how great these characters are; and Lizzy makes you feel like you are part of the story. I love Lizzy's books and this series does not disappoint.

Halloween by Lizzy FordEsme is like every other bullied teenager today, except she isn't. She is surrounded by angels, familiars, and talking/shifting animals. Everything changes on Halloween, when she discovers her true nature. This book is written for teens in the suspense-filled style that Lizzy Ford has perfected. I love these characters, and the mystery that surrounds them. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving.

Esme,
By Kathleen G. Cerrato (4.0 out of 5 stars) on November 16, 2017
Esme is a bittersweet story of a teenage girl. It is heartbreaking that she is viciously bullied by her peers in and out of school. As a lot of teenagers, she prefers to wear dark, black clothing which also causes the kids to bully her. Esme lives on a farm with her Mother, which is basically a zoo for a strange variety of animals Her Mother, an Angel, came across as an airhead, who is oblivious to what is going on with her daughter. It is not until a stranger with his son appears who offers to help with the animals at the zoo, that things turn around for Esme. I found this a dark, heartbreaking story of a very lonely young girl. I love the was Lizzy Ford mixes up the tales that she tells, and I have never been disappointed with any of them. Yes, there are a few twists and turns in this story, and I would highly recommend you reading it.

A fun read that leaves you wishing for book 2!

Halloween, the first intallment of the Esme novella trilogy introduces us to Esme. Esme is a senior in high school in a small town where she is ridiculed and bullied because she doesn't fit in. Of course, being the daughter of an angel, who lives in a creepy old house on the outskirts of town with hundreds of animals in its care doesn't help her situation. Even with all of the school drama, Esme is happy at home, with her mom, pet Taco, and all the other animals that share her home. When Oscar and his son Jasper move into her home, Esme is suspicious of them, but immediately has a connection to Jasper, who is the same age as Esme. As Esme grows closer to Jasper, she realizes that he and his father are not all they they seem.Lizzy Ford does a fabulous job of setting the scene and drawing you in with Halloween. I read the entire book in 1 sitting and cannot wait for book 2!

Different is awesome!
By I read way too much…. (5.0 out of 5 stars) on November 10, 2017
Esme is different, she know it (after all, her mother is an Angel) and the kids at her school make sure that she know different is not ok. She helps her mother run a zoo on their property and her only friends are the animals she cares for, and her Angelic Companion, Taco. When Jasper and Oscar move in with Esme and her mother Gloria, everything changes, some for the better, and others for the worse. I really enjoyed this book, and was pretty bummed that I finished it and need to wait for the next book to come out. The characters in this book felt real and relateable and I wish I had a companion like Taco, who wouldn't want a tiny triceratops running around? I have read pretty much everything this author has published, and loved the vast majority of her work. I regularly go to her Amazon page hoping something new has been released or is coming soon. Even though this book is targeted to teenagers - so nowhere near my demographic - I really loved it and found the story compelling and am very eagerly awaiting Thanksgiving...the book, not the day....well, the day too, but I digress...

Another fantastic read by Lizzy Ford
